11-27-01 Venus Envy received a blue Ribbon in the Camera Rochester Winners Competition.  Also receiving Ribbons were Hands and Textures.
My images "Dichotomy" and "The Jetty" from the Christ Portraits were exhibited in the International God Show at Art Connections in Davis, California in September.  Only 24 pieces of art were selected to be in the exhibit.
Also this past September, at The Elizabeth Collection Gallery in Rochester, NY, where my work is displayed, I will be hanging 'Trancendence' an exhibit of Jerry Uelsmann's photographs.
Last year, I was instrumental in bringing  Joyce Tenneson’s work to Rochester’s Elizabeth Collection Gallery, where I am represented.  On September 8th, we hosted a dual opening gala, with 28 of Joyce’s large (20x24 inches) in the upstairs gallery, and Ross Rider’s Larger than Life wooden sculptures in the adjoining METAL Museum.  Joyce’s images are from her new book, Light Warriors. The images are made with a LARGE Polaroid camera (there are only four in the world).  The prints have a chocolate brown / black & white sort of a feel.  Joyce mentioned that the emulsion with that Polaroid film is actually a cross between black and white and color, as you could pick out reds and blues deep in the grain of some of the prints.  The work in my opinion is stunning.  The viewer is given the opportunity to gaze into her subject’s souls.  Light Warriors exposes how far Joyce Tenneson’s photographic ability has come. It is a triumph!

In June of 2000, I gave a workshop entitled “Recipes for Creative Photography” at the Conference of the Arts on Star Island, ten miles out into the Atlantic off the coast of New Hampshire.  A number of the images in Recent Work were shot during that week.   My time there was exceptional and the response from my students was heartwarming.
In March of 2001, at the Elizabeth Collection gallery in Rochester, my exhibition entitled The Christ Portraits opened.  'Dashboard Jesus', was selected to be in the Finger Lakes exhibition at The Memorial Art Gallery here in Rochester.
